Hey everyone,

I'm thinking up new merchandise ideas for Dragon*Con and beyond. Help me answer these questions and I'll randomly pick a winner from all the suggestions for a FREE doodle! All you have to do is tell me what you like!

1. For a 12-month cute cephalopod calendar, would you prefer a small desk calendar, or larger wall calendar?

2. If you could buy one of my cute critters as a plushie, which would you choose?

3. Anything else you'd like to see?

THANKS!!

And actually made some cash and had fun! A rousing success!

This was the most fun I've had at a convention since Con on the Cob '06. I'm glad I covered my expenses, but what really matters is being with all you awesome people. I <3 you all.

I roomed with and [info]tamen  and Kyote and Jen, who were fabulous roomies. We all hung out with Netasha and JenKiwi and poor Dingo who was the only guy in a roomful of giggling girls - we watched the AMAZING Pittsburgh fireworks from our room on the 22nd floor. Wow.

Wish I had more time to chill with [info]painteddog and [info]likeshine and [info]fishy_boner and [info]chaoseven and their room crew but I had so much homework and their room was like way over at the Doubletree. HAVE SOME SPAGHETTI. At least we got to the rave with Bios the tall monkey to see [info]tekfox and that guy with a severe case of drunken crotch-badge. Fantastic.

I got awesome arts from Ivy Beth and Rude the Fox and [info]seely (after I drew on some pants) and won some awesome originals in the show from [info]ursulav and [info]pseudomanitou. Ursula and [info]alchemist were awesome and got a couple of my originals and she gave me a print of her beautiful armadillo piece when I was outbid.

I got sweet badges from [info]savicorn and[info]fishy_boner and Rude the Fox and [info]tabbiewolf and [info]circlemeats. I need a corkboard for all these sweet cepahlobadges.

And finally, thanks to EVERYONE who stopped by my booth to say hi and buy art and t-shirts. I couldn't make it work if it wasn't for you. I LOVE YOU GUYS

Just a few short weeks until Anthrocon. I'm so excited! I'll be in the Dealer's Room, selling t-shirts, prints, and commissions (badges and sketches). I'll also have originals and Limited Edition prints in the art show. I can't wait to see everyone and meet new people!

I'm taking preorders for badges. Grab one now to ensure you'll have your badge at the start of the con! I'll do them at the con too, but I can't guarantee they'll be done before you have to leave.

Here are some examples and pricing:

Of course, I always love to turn your character into a cephalopod as well!

I'm looking for your advice on color. I noticed that I generally use the same basic color schemes on a lot of things, and would like to branch out. I'd like your help to experiment! I'm looking for a base color and 2 or 3 highlights.

SO, tell me... what are your favorite color combinations?

My groovy CrashOctopus hats sold out, but I have these nifty new scarves! The logo is embroidered on one end. They're fleece and soft and lonnnnng and 7.5" wide. Made by the same company who made the hats, and great quality!

They're on sale for $20 plus shipping. I can also hold one for you to pick up at a con.

And if you already have a grey hat, this'd make a perfect matching set... :D

September was the worst month ever. I am not a drama-oriented person. Last month, drama erupted all around me and I had no idea how to deal with it. I am glad to say I made it out the ass end of that month in one piece, although a bit worse for wear and smelling funny.

October is, hopefully, a fresh start. There will be more art, more photo-taking, and most importantly... VACATION! I'm going to Lebanon for two weeks. TWO WEEKS of non-stop fun, sleep, and no responsibility. I honestly cannot wait. Two weeks away from everything will a) kill any drama that's still lurking in the corners and b) kill the ringworm thriving on both me and my cat. We keep giving it back and forth to each other. This is the second time foster cats have brought plague into my house and it is making me not want to do that ever again. Any advice?

So anyway, new art is up on my website, although it is sparse because of the month from hell. Con on the Cob was awesome. No more conventions until the Atlanta Boat Show next January. I have a million art-related tasks that I need to finish, so these next two months will be dedicated to that. And finding a new job. Also, does anyone want to buy a house in Pleasant Suburbia, Georgia?

Epic
AC was awesome. Thanks to everyone for buying things, saying "hi," hanging out, and giving me stuff. [info]painteddog gave me the cutest "nom" pin ever of an octopus, one very excellent dealer whose name I can't remember (because I suck) gave me an adorable little bluering charm, [info]phylumerzte made me an epic OctoPoots badge, Rude the Fox made me the awesomest octopus painting a submarine, and Lizardbeth made us all drunken character badges out of coasters from Tonic. Thanks to everyone who commissioned me - I had a blast making badges. Thanks to the awesome people who bought my art show stuff (including Mulefoot and [info]ursulav OMG). And most of all, thanks to Flain, the bestest roommate ever with his cool slap bracelets and podcast. Clawcast.com!

The best part of coming back was not waking up at 5am or dragging my luggage back to my car. It was coming home and finding blueberries ripe in my backyard. There have been little green blueberries on that bush since March. They are finally, suddenly, and magically ripening. That, plus the strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries (which also grow wild) made a perfect end to a great weekend.

I had a blast at RCFM with everyone. I loved sitting with [info]painteddog and [info]likeshine again and seeing everyone! Thanks for those who stopped by, and for your donations to FurKids. I'll take them $25.34 when I go volunteer tomorrow.

Also, AC! Still looking for one roomie. I am considering doing badges, since that's what everyone likes. They'd be like this, but with a name: [link] and be $20.

They'd be cute and I prefer to do "feral." What do you think? Anyone interested? I'll do pre-orders - send me a note.

Hey, y'all. I'm going to RCFM on Memorial Day weekend. Anyone else going to be there? I'll have a dealer table, art with your name on it, T-SHIRTS, and hopefully a hot new booth babe. Stop in and say "hi!"

The kori bustard was displaying today! I didn't know they did that. Watched the cassowary eat wood chips and the kangaroo pee on his own feet. I got to see the red panda running around. He's always been sleeping before. No WONDER people love them, they are so freaking cute that my eyeballs started smoking!

The best part of being a zoo member in Atlanta is that you can get in half an hour before the general population. I was the first guest inside the zoo today and got some great one-on-one time with the animals who usually have crowds of screaming children blocking the view and idiot parents telling their children "look at the bobcat!" instead of reading the sign right in front of them that says Clouded Leopard.

Hey Y'all!

I'll be at FWA next weekend (Feb 15-17). I'll have art in the show and a seat in Artist's Alley. Stop by and say "hi!" I'll probably be wearing an octopus hat.  :D

This is the coolest costume I've ever seen:  http://www.lolgay.com/images/2007/06/02/060207saturdrag.jpg

I am reading this fascinating book on octopus intelligence. Today I learned that the biggest brains (relative to size) of carnivores belong to bears and for all ungulates, pigs. Fascinating!

Have a happy 'Podmas.
